Inheritance – Recipes

I’m taking a break from the distant past of London.  I was recently inspired by a post to do a little something that connected the past with the present.  Here’s the result:

I am fortunate to have a lovely recipe box crafted by Aunt Kate’s brother Fred (my grandfather) for my grandmother, Minnie.

It’s where I save any family-related handwritten recipe card, including a number written out by Minnie but labeled as being a recipe from her mother-in-law Florence.  For the tea towel project I selected four recipes (which fit nicely on one yard of fabric).

Aunt Kate very probably enjoyed this rice pudding during her childhood;

I know this was a favorite childhood treat of mine – you can tell by the less than pristine condition of the card that this one was used quite a bit!

Now I can share these recipes with other family members in tea towel form!
